daddy’s comin’ home today!

started off the day with a wonderful breakfast visit from melissa chapman, a.k.a. “chappy” who presented me & nana with bagels from panera (yum) and the carter kids with mcdonald’s hotcake & sausage platters, followed by a rousing sunday morning wrestling match. the kids have never headed off to service with so much adrenaline. thanks to melissa and to coop, who came over on thursday to wrestle with our kids…

 headed off to church for an amazing service. emma & thomas go to see daddy’s face on the sandal’s india team flyer… they can’t wait to see him later today when the shuttles drop off the team at the church office. sammy got to hand out bulletins for the first time and was just in his element. what did i say about him being a “future greeter”?

after heading home for lunch, emma disappeared for a while. she was found later, amidst the sprinkles of rain, trying to write out a chalk greeting for daddy…

it will be so good to have him home, even if it IS only for tonight! alas, dave leaves for cleveland, OH, for a business trip in the morning… ;-(  we just can’t wait to see him this afternoon!
